Name[edit]

Pogonophryne sarmentifera Balushkin & Spodareva, 2013

  • Holotype: ZIN 55244.

Type locality: Ross Sea, between 71°42´S, 178°28´W, and 71°41´S, 179°01´W [1], depth 1157–1036 m.

Etymology: The species name is derived from the Latin word sarmentifer (= lorate, whiplike).
