Plethodon cheoah Highton & Peabody, 2000: 62.

Type locality: "Bellcollar Gap (35° 19´ 20 N 83° 41´ 11 W), 0.6 km southwest of the top of Cheoah Bald, at an elevation of 1445 m, Graham-Swain County line, North Carolina", USA.

Holotype: USNM 459012.
