- Holotype: GPIT/OS 817, isolated pharyngeal tooth.
- Type locality: Na Duong coal mine, northern Vietnam.
- Type horizon and stratigraphy: Rhin Chua Formation, late Middle to Late Eocene.
Etymology: minuta (= Latin for “very small”).
