- Type locality: New Zealand, Manawatawhi, northwest corner of West Island (34°11.097'S, 172°1.848'E).
- Holotype: leg. K. Schnabel; 2013-04-12; directly off cave, and on steep slope to the west of the cave, 25 m depth; AK; AK38406.
