Note: described from artificially produced plants in cultivation in California, from imported Pinus banksiana (♂) crossed with local Pinus contorta subsp. murrayana (♀), but also occurring naturally where Pinus banksiana and Pinus contorta subsp. latifolia overlap in distribution in western Canada.
