- Paratypes: BNHS FWF 97–100 (4); WILD 14-PIS-073–075 (3); ZSI-WRC P/3950–51 (2).
- Type locality: India: Maharashtra: Kolhapur District: Hiranyakeshi River near Gavse-Ajara, 16°04'06"N 74°05'30"E, 690 m a.s.l.
- Etymology: The species name longicauda is Latin for ‘long tail’ and is named for the characteristic long caudal peduncle in the species.
