Type locality: Iraq: Sulaymaniyah prov: Zalm at Khurmal, 35°18.38' N 45° 58.26' E.

Etymology: Named for Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi, also known as as Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi or simply Mowlavi, Molavi and Rumi, a Persian poet, jurist, theologian, and Sufi mystic.
