Ostryopsis nobilis Balf.f. & W.W.Sm. in Anonymous, Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 8: 194 (1914).

Type locality: China, Sichuan/Yunnan, in open thickets on the mountains of the Yangtze bend. 27°45’N, 10,000‒11,000 ft.

Lectotype: E00275490: June 1913, G. Forrest 10343 (designated in Holstein & Weigend 2016)
