Oaxacaniinae R.M.King & H.Rob., Phytologia 46(7): 449. (1980)

  • Type genus: Oaxacania B.L.Rob. & Greenm., Amer. J. Sci. ser. 3, 50: 151. (1895)

Note: It is assumed that Oaxacaniinae is most closely related to Hofmeisteriinae because it shares a similar habit, rupiculous life history, deeply lobed leaves and capitula with multiple series of phyllaries, therefore both subtribes often treated together, but see p. 735 Funk et al. (2009).
