- Holotype: MCP 3460-PV, nearly complete cranium with associated lower jaws, collected by S.L. Olson and 0.A. Roppa on 16 August 1973.
- Type locality: “Brazil, Territorio de Fernando de Noronha, Ilha Fernando de Noronha, late Quaternary beach dunes located near Ponta de Santo Antonio; approximately 3°50'S, 32°24'W”.
