Mochokus brevis Boulenger, 1906

  • Syntypes: BMNH 1907.12.2.2529-2542 (42 now 14), 1907.12.2.2544 (1); MNHN 1907-0233 [ex BMNH] (2); ZSM 5865 [ex BMNH 1907.12.2.2529-42] (1).

Type locality: Fashoda and Lake No, White Nile River, Sudan.

Etymology: The specific epithet brevis is the Latin for word for short, in reference to the shorter caudal part of the body compared to Mochokus niloticus.
