Melanorivulus atlanticus Costa, Braganza & Ottoni, 2015

Holotype: UFRJ 10243. Paratypes: UFRJ 10244 (4,4), 10245 (1,3).

Type locality: Brazil: Estado de Sergipe: Município de Pirambu: swamp in the coastal Restinga, between Lagoa Grande and Pau Seco, about 3.5 km from the sea coast, 10°37’10”S 36°43’50”W.

Etymology: The name atlanticus refers to the first record of the genus Melanorivulus for the Atlantic Forest region of northeastern Brazil.
