Lutjanus sapphirolineatus Iwatsuki, Al-Mamry & Heemstra, 2016

Holotype: MUFS 33724. Paratypes: MUFS 33521‒33522 (2); OMMSFC 760; USNM 305002 (4).

Type locality: Muttra, Gulf of Oman, Oman.

Etymology: The species is named sapphirolineatus with reference to the diagnostic character of four blue stripes on the body of this species.
