Name

Loxoconcha violacea Behrens, 1991

• Type locality: From the sandy bottom of a lagoon of less than 10 metres depth, Station 26, Lizard Island (14º40'S, 145º28'E), 36 km off the coast, northern Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia.
• Remarks: Holotype and some paratypic material are deposited at the Australian Museum, Sydney. Paratypes are also deposited at the Zoologisches Museum, Hamburg.
