The three genera, Comanthosphace, Leucosceptrum and Rostrinucula, were suggested to be extraneous in Pogostemonoideae and their systematic position uncertain (Ryding 1994), however, see Scheen et al., 2010 for an improved phylogeny/taxonomy.

  • Species previously assigned here are now circumscribed to other genera (Govaerts & al, 2014)
