    • Distribution: Littoral, British Isles, Atlantic coast of Europe, Africa to Cape Verde; Mediterranean and Black Seas; other records unverified; sympatric with Chthamalus montagui, occupying middle littoral levels; reported from Pliocene of Italy (de Alessandri, 1894)
