Name

[edit]

Laubuka latens Knight, 2015

Type locality: 12°22'46"N, 76°47'24"E, channel, 200 m downstream of branching from the main river, Cauvery River at Gandehosahalli, Karnataka, India.

Etymology: derived from Latin latens (= hidden), an allusion to the identity of the species being hidden, as it was overlooked in earlier ichthyofaunal surveys owing to it having been confused with Laubuka laubuca.
