Krobia petitella Steele et al., 2013

  • Holotype: UG/CSBD 1662 (Ex ROM 86851)
  • Paratypes: ROM 86793 (1), 86851 (6), 87070 (2), 87097 (1), 87193 (1), 88525 (22), 88574 (3), 88616 (3), 88658 (1).

Type locality: Guyana, East Berbice River, Just upstream of Kwakwani, 5°14’57.8”N, 58°5’11.5”W [1].

Etymology: The specific epithet is from the Latin petitus (= reaching out for, or inclining towards). In reference to the lateral band spots lying adjacent to the upper lateral line anteriorly and intercepting posteriorly.
