- Holotype: MVZ 158941, adult ♂, collected by T.J. Papenfuss in 24 October 1981.
- Type locality: “roadside bank along the road to las Lajas Microwave Station, 15 km (by rd) S Highway 140 from las Vigas, Veracruz, Mexico (19°35.5′ N, 97°05.7′ W, 3000 m elevation)”.
