- Type genus: Ipomoea L., Sp. Pl. 1: 159 (1753), nom. cons.
Note: Ipomoeeae is monophyletic, but Ipomoea is paraphyletic with some other tribal genera embedded in it. Changes are presently being explored {Eserman et al., 2914).
