Name[edit]

Ichthyosaura alpestris alpestris (Laurenti, 1768)

Type locality: "in Etschero monte" (= Etschero Mountain), northern Alps, west of Mariazell, Austria.

Holotype: including specimen illustrated on Pl. 2, fig. 4 in the original publication.
