Type location: MEXICO, Chihuahua, Parque Nacional Basaseachic, overlook area above Cascade de Basaseachic, 28o10'05" N, 108o12'25" W, T. H. Nash 37629 (ASU).
Substrate and ecology (Sonoran region): On bark, in open pine-oak forests.
Etymology: Named in honor of Drs. C.F. Culberson and W.L. Culberson.
