- Holotype: MHUA-A 7227, adult ♂, collected by Mauricio Rivera, Alejandro Montoya, and Felipe Duarte on 5 June 2010.
- Type locality: “Colombia, Antioquia, Municipio de Bello, Serranía Las Baldías, Corregimiento de Sa Félix, Vereda Las Huertas, Quebrada El Hato (6°19′53.93″ N, 75°38′10.10″ W, 2660 m, datum = WGS84), km 5 along San Félix road—Truchera San Félix”.
