- Gender: feminine
- Replacement name for Dravidia Pethiyagoda et al., 2012 preoccupied by Dravidia Lehrer, 2010
- Etymology: Haludaria nom. nov. is named after 'Haludar, a Bengal youth', who ca 1797 was the artist who made the illustrations in Francis Hamilton's book Gangetic Fishes on the fishes of the Ganges River.
