Guioa capillacea A.C.Sm., J. Arnold Arbor. 31(3): 293 (1950)

Note: accepted by Smith (1985), but synonymized with G. chrysea A.C.Sm. by van Welzen (1989). J. Munzinger, specialist of Sapindaceae, used this name for specimen determination in 2016 (vide J. Munzinger et al. 7369).
Type: A.C. Smith 1715 (in fruit, 7 May 1934; Holotype: US [US00095351 (1676291)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]; Isotypes: BISH [BISH1004951 (581092)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}], BO-1320433^(GBIF), GH 00050770^{(GBIF, JSTOR)} ['Holotype', but see Note below], K [K000701646^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}], NY [NY00337871^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}], P [P00646029^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}], S [S11-25529^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}], WIS [WIS00000659MAD^(JSTOR)]).

Type locality: Fiji. Vanua Levu: Mbua, Lower Wainunu River Valley, alt. 10–200 m.
