Name

- Type locality: Near northern limit of Bahía San Francisco, Esmeraldas, Ecuador. Dredged in 5.4 m of water with corallinae near the northeastern side of Ba. San Francisco.
- Holotype: Taylor #34-489; 1934-02-11; At a depth of 5.4 meters with corallinae. HAHF Sheet 160. (cystocarpic and tetrasporic). According to Grusz & Freshwater (2014: 101) the holotype is now in MICH.
