Afrogecko porphyreus (Daudin, 1802)

  • Holotype: MNHN-RA 6732.
  • Type locality: “île Santo Domingo”, corrected to “Cape of Good Hope” by Fitzsimons (1943).

    • Holotype: PEM R16091 (formerly AMG 6943), collected by V.S. Peers on 28 August 1933.
    • Type locality: “Bitterfontein, Namaqualand”, Western Cape Province, South Africa.
  • Phyllodactylus porphyreus cronwrighti Hewitt, 1937: 205 [synonymised by Bauer, Good & Branch (1997: 478)]
    • Syntypes (n=4): PEM R16085–6, R16087 (formerly AMG 7649) and R16088 (formerly AMG 7791), collected by Fred Cronwright, date unknown.
    • Type locality: “Cape St. Francis”, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa.
