Holotype: MNHN -IU-2013-8089, ♂, 11 March 1999.
Type locality: Fiji. BORDAU 1, Stn DW1493, 18°43.02'S, 178°23.74'W, 429–440 m.
Etymology: The name refers to Tagaloa, the ocean-god, that according the Samoan tradition created the Fiji islands.
