Holotype: MNHN -IU-2013-13963, ♂, 5 October 2006.
Type locality: Vanuatu. SANTO, Stn AT69, 15°40.4'S, 167°17.3'E, 207–229 m.
Etymology: The name Galene, calm, refers to one of the Nereids of Greek mythology.
