Holotype: MNHN -IU-2013-8354, ♂, 9 March 1993.
Type locality: New Caledonia. Lagon. Stn DW1235, 22°24.08'S, 166°55.44'E, 51 m.
Etymology: The name Cetus, the sea monster, refers to one of the southern constellations.
