Frigoichthys Bannikov, 2004

Etymology: Named in honour of Dr. Margherita Sorbini Frigo, geologist, paleoichthyologist, and widow of the outstanding Italian paleoichthyologist Dr. Lorenzo Sorbini, with whom she collaborated in studying the percifomrs of Bolca, and ichthys, the Greek word for fish.
