Note: There are problems with sectional allocation of the above species, therefor they are best classified in Erythrina subg. Erythrina without sections. Barneby & Krukoff cited E. herbacea L. as the type of the genus, not E. corallodendron L., hence incorrectly referring these species to E. sect. Erythrina. No alternative name has been found for this group of species and it may be more useful to dispense with sections.
