Type locality: SOUTHERN OCEAN: ♀, cruise CEAMARC, sample CEAMARC 2072, stn 65EV322, Adélie Coast, 65°48ʹ09″ S, 143°03ʹ46″ E, 750–788 m, beam trawl, 5 Jan. 2008, coll. IPEV-AAD-MNHN.

Etymology: Latinization of Adèle, referring to Adèle Pépin, the wife of Jules Sébastien César Dumont d’Urville, and alluding to Adélie Coast where the type material of the species was collected.
