  • Holotype: CSIRO H 5677-08.
  • Paratype: CSIRO H 5677-09.

Type locality: Indian Ocean, south of Cocos-Keeling Islands, 473–570 m depth, 14°45'S, 95°24'E – 14°45'S, 95°22'E [1].

Etymology: The specific name tuberculatus is from the Latin tuber meaning swelling, in reference to the tubercle found on the inner symphysis of the lower jaw.
