Name[edit]

Enneanectes exsul Rosenblatt; et al., 2013

  • Holotype: SIO 11-392 (formerly UCLA 55-156).
  • Paratypes: LACM 31783-7 (5), 32096-18 (3), 32097-43 (4); SIO 70-392 (9), 11-395 (formerly UCLA 53-49) (1), 12-65 (formerly UCLA 55-124) (2), 11-396 (formerly UCLA 55-152) (1), 70-394 (5); CAS 235204 (1); USNM 410092 (1).

Type locality: Mexico, Islas Revillagigedo, Isla Socorro; front point marking southwest end of first cove north of Caleta Binner at a depth of 0 to 3 m.

Etymology: From the Latin exsul (= an exile), in reference to the island habitat of this species.
