  • Holotype: MNHN 1966-0646.
  • Paratypes (13): BMNH 1984.5.16.9–15 (5); HUJ 20531, 20269 (3); KAUM–I 80906; MNHN 1942-0049 (3).

Type locality: Suez Bay, Egypt, 29°54’00”N, 32°31’12”E.

Etymology: The specific name gloria is derived from the Latin meaning “glory”, in reference to the brilliant silver stripe along the body.
