Eigenmannia waiwai Peixoto et al., 2015

  • Holotype: INPA 37594.
  • Paratypes: INPA 46985 (24 + 2C&S), 37597 (3 + 1C&S); MZUSP 116798 (3); MPEG 31166 (3).

Type locality: Brazil. Pará: Rio Mapuera, Rio Trombetas basin, 01°05′ S, 57°02′ W.

Etymology: The epithet waiwai is a reference to the indigenous people whose home territory proximates the type locality for the species.
