Eigenmannia muirapinima Peixoto et al., 2015

  • Holotype: MPEG 21778.
  • Paratypes: MPEG 21777 (1 + 3 C&S), 22163 (1), 29489 (9); MZUSP 116796 (2 + 2C&S).

Type locality: Brazil. Pará: Igarapé Santo Antônio, tributary of Rio Amazonas, Rio Amazonas basin, 2°09′15.9″ S, 56°05′17.9″ W.

Etymology: The epithet muirapinima is a tribute to the indigenous people of the tribe Muirapinima, who inhabit the region near the type locality of the species.
