Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA: Eastern Cape: off Rame Head (31.8450°S 29.4750°E), living, -150–160 m, sponges, dredged NMDP, RV Meiring Naude, st’n K10, 20.vii.1982
Etymology: From Latin textilis (woven); in reference to the regular, net-like sculpture.
