Name

Cyanogaster noctivaga Mattox et al., 2013

• Holotype: MZUSP 111126.
• Paratypes: BMNH 2013.1.1.1-5 (5); INPA 37904 (4); MZUSP 112115 (10), 112114 (22), 112116 (32); USNM 408448 (3).

Type locality: Brazil, Amazonas, Santa Isabel do Rio Negro, rock plateau beach along Rio Negro, near mouth of Rio Urubaxi, 0°30'5.3"S, 64°49'12.2"W [1].

Etymology: The name noctivaga (= the night wanderer), is derived from the Latin noun nox (= night), and the verb vagare (= to walk about), in reference to the presumed nocturnal habits of the species which was collected exclusively at night.
