Curculionichthys piracanjuba (Martins & Langeani, 2012)

  • Holotype: DZSJRP 10450.
  • Paratypes: DZSJRP 10442 (1, 3), 13233 (15, 1 c&s), 14780 (7), 14781 (7); MCP 46837 (3); MZUSP 110491 (3); AMNH 255205 (3); MNRJ 39238 (3); MZUEL 5768 (3).

Type locality: Rio Paranaíba basin; unnamed stream tributary of rio Piracanjuba at GO-213 road from Morrinhos to Rio Quenta, right after the access to Água Limpa, upper rio Paraná system, 17°43'23"S, 48°57'47"W, Marcelândia County, Goiás State, Brazil.

Etymology: The specific epithet was given in reference to the rio Piracanjuba, the type locality drainage.
