- Type locality: "Quebrada Guanguí, about 0. 5 km above its junction with Río Patia, 100-200 m elev., in upper Río Saija drainage, Department of Cauca, Colombia. The type locality is roughly 2°50´N, 77°25´W."
- Holotype: AMNH 88977.
