- Holotype: KU 70901, adult ♂, collected by William E. Duellman on 27 June 1962.
- Type locality:“6 kilometers south of Campamento Vista Hermosa, at an elevation of 1865 meters, at the northern periphery of the Sierra de Juárez, Distrito de Ixtlan, Oaxaca, Mexico. Campamento Vista Hermosa, shown on few maps, is situated near latitude 17°50' N., longitude 96°20' W., on the drainage of the Rio San Cristobal, to the southwest of Valle Nacional”.
