- Stratigraphic and Geolographic range: Cretaceous (middle to upper Albian); England, France
- LectoType locality: probably upper Albian Gault Formation, Folkestone, England
- Typus: Lectotype specimen illustrated in Sowerby, 1836, fig. 5, by Withers, 1935: 150; present whereabouts unknown (Gale, 2025: 110)
