- Stratigraphic and geographic range: Cretaceous; upper Campanian to lower Maastrichtian; Norfolk, UK, Netherlands, Germany and Belgium
- Type locality: Lower Maastrichtian, probably Beacon Hill Grey Chalk Member, Belemnella sumensis Zone, Trimmingham, Norfolk, England
- Typus: Lectotype BMNH In.30157, illustrated in Woodward (1906, fig. 32); paralectotype BMNH In.30156, illustrated in Woodward (1906, fig. 31); selected by Withers (1935: 195)
