Cretargentina chapmani Taverne

  • Holotype: Ap 13.

Type locality and horizon: Upper Santonian marine Apricena, Foggia, Gargano Promontory, Puglia, southern Italy. The Santonian is dated 83-86.6 my ago.

Etymology: The species name is dedicated to the American ichthyologist Wilbert McLeod Chapman (1910-1970) who devoted many of his works to the osteological study of Argentiniformes.
