- Holotype: MZFC 14461 (formerly EBUAP-1040), adult ♂, collected by Luis Canseco-Márquez and Guadalupe Gutiérrez-Mayen on 15 March 1997.
- Type locality: “2 km E of Zoquitlán, Sierra Nega, Estado de Puebla, Mexico, 2155 m. ... This locality is at approximately 18°19′N, 97°00′W”.
