Cirrhitus pinnulatus (Forster in Bloch & Schneider, 1801)

Type locality: Otahaitee [Tahiti, Society Islands, French Polynesia, South Pacific].

Etymology: The specific name is a combination of the Latin pinna (= fin) and latus (= side, flank, wide, broad, spacious).
