Name

Chromis yamakawai Iwatsubo & Motomura, 2013

  • Holotype: NSMT-P 111948.
  • Paratypes: 114 specimens.

Type locality: off west coast of Yoron-jima island, Kagoshima, Japan, 27°03'21"N, 128°24'39"E [1], 10 m depth.

Etymology: The species is named for Takeshi Yamakawa (Kochi, Japan), who first recognized this species as new and kindly made specimens available to the authors.
