Centromochlus ferrarisi Birindelli et al., 2015

Type locality: Brazil, Tocantins, Rio da Conceição, headwater of Rio das Balsas, Estação Ecológica Serra Geral do Tocantins, 11° 05′ 58" S; 46° 46′ 07" E.

Etymology: named in honour of C. J. Ferraris Jr., for his numerous contributions to the systematics of Siluriformes, especially Auchenipteridae, including the first hypothesis recognizing Centromochlinae as sister to all other Auchenipteridae.
